About Fallen Valor

Everyone deserves a real shot at rebuilding. Fallen Valor makes free, practical tools that help people with sex, violent, and other felony convictions find lawful housing and work with second chance employers, so they can get back on their feet and stay there.

Why we built this

After release, two questions come up right away: Where can I legally live? and Who will hire me? The answers are scattered across statutes, county parcel maps, school databases, and the public registry. Stable housing and steady work are among the strongest protections against returning to prison. We pull public information into one place so the first steps are a little easier.

What we offer

Green Zone Checker

Screen a proposed address against mapped schools, licensed child care, and parks using the residency buffer for your state. For Oklahoma that’s 2,000 ft property line to property line under 57 O.S. §590. In 22 covered Oklahoma counties it measures edge to edge from tax parcels. Elsewhere it uses the address point with a 10% safety ring that flags close calls for review.

Jobs: second chance employers

A map of second chance employers that people on Oklahoma’s public Sex and Violent Offender Registry have listed as a workplace, sorted by distance from your address (5 to 50 miles). Each one is a lead: a place that has employed someone with a record. It doesn’t mean they’re hiring now.

Housing: Green Zone apartments

A map of Oklahoma apartment communities and rental buildings from OHFA, HUD, and OpenStreetMap whose map point sits more than 2,000 ft from every mapped school, licensed child care site, and park, within 5 to 50 miles of your address. It’s a starting list of buildings, not a vacancy board.

Who it’s for

Where the data comes from

Only public, free sources: NCES school locations, Oklahoma DHS licensed child-care providers, OpenStreetMap parks, county assessor tax parcels, the Oklahoma DOC registry (sors.doc.ok.gov) for self-reported employers, and the US Census Bureau Geocoder. See the FAQ for details and limits.

Read this before you rely on any result

  • Not legal advice. The Green Zone Checker is a screening aid. A “likely green” result is never permission to rent, buy, or move. Confirm every address with an attorney and your supervising officer or registering agency.
  • Not a job guarantee. Second chance employers on the Jobs map are leads, not openings. Each employer makes its own hiring decisions.
  • No harassment. These tools exist to help people rebuild. Never use them to locate, contact, report, or harass anyone, including people who work at a listed employer.
  • Data can be wrong. Maps, parcels, and registry listings can be incomplete, misspelled, or out of date. Local ordinances, court orders, and supervision conditions are often not mapped.
